November 20th, 1955 – Bo Diddley appeared on the TV show
Toast Of The Town. Producers wanted him to perform the then
popular song Sixteen Tons but when the camera came on, in a
bit of early Rock & Roll rebellion, Bo sang his latest release Bo
Diddley resulting in a lifetime ban from the show from its
emcee, Ed Sullivan.
November 22nd, 1957 – Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel made
their first national TV appearance on American Bandstand as
Tom & Jerry singing their first professional recording Hey
Schoolgirl which peaked at #49 on the Billboard Magazine
national record chart
